Chivas Regal 12 is a blend of many different malt and grain Scotch whiskies, matured for at least 12 years. This rich, smooth blend combines style with substance and tradition.
For James Chivas, there were two fundamental principles of blending: ‘old, mature stocks and a distinct Speyside accent’. Master Blender Colin Scott adheres to those same principles today, with whiskies at least 12 years old with a generous measure of Speyside malts.
The humble cask is centre stage in creating the perfect blend. Sherry casks imparting a deep rich colour to the whisky, whilst the bourbon cask can be relied upon to give a more golden hue. But it’s all in the blend. Combining these individual signatures to craft the unique character you find in every bottle of Chivas.
Ever since our triumphant return to New York in 1938, Chivas 12 has become a mainstay of luxury culture, shared with friends the world over.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: An aromatic infusion of wild herbs, heather, honey and orchard fruits.
- Taste: Round and creamy with a full, rich taste of honey and ripe apples, with vanilla, hazelnut and butterscotch notes.
